Lot’s of people find it really difficult to talk about Sexual Safety. For some, they’ll have a chat about it through gritted teeth, but for many this means they go without having these important conversations. It could be that they find it awkward, too personal, embarrassing or just don’t know who to trust. Sexual safety effects us all - no matter gender, age, sexual orientation, race, religion or culture.
Luckily, things are slowly changing and discussions about sexual safety are cropping up more often. Equally, people are no longer happy to turn a blind eye to harassment and bullying, with movements such as #metoo being leaders for change. It’s key that we all talk about our experiences and try to make it less of a ‘taboo’ topic to help create safer lives for all.
This awareness film was made for the NHS to help get people talking about Sexual Safety. Created with stop frame animation and Plastercine models with cardboard sets and props.
